Dr. J. 布莱尔布莱克本, ETBU第13任校长, has served faithfully as 总统 of East Texas Baptist University since June 2015. 在加入ETBU之前, he served at four other institutions of higher learning, including Dallas Baptist University, University of Texas at Tyler, 朗莫里斯学院, 和巴黎专科学校. His experience in campus operations, 行政事务, 学生事务, 体育运动, 筹款, and enrollment has led ETBU, 在他的领导下, to increased undergraduate and graduate enrollment, as well as expanded the number of bachelor’s and master’s degree programs offered at the University. He has advanced new partnerships with 马歇尔 ISD and the City of 马歇尔, facilitated community improvements with ETBU’s Neighborhood Renewal Initiative, and expanded the University’s student servant leadership program to eng年龄 all ETBU undergraduate students in contributing one hour per week to volunteer community service. In addition to the University’s 18 NCAA Division III athletic teams, Dr. Blackburn launched five new club sports for greater student involvement, 包括冰球, 长曲棍球, 砰的一声, 低音捕鱼, 和欢乐, as well as beginning men’s and women’s golf and elevating acrobatics and tumbling to the NCAA Division III level.
Dr. Blackburn earned an Associate of Arts from Tyler Junior College, a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Texas at Tyler, a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Administration from Baylor University. He has been married to his wife, 米歇尔·布莱克本, 30多年来, and they have three children: Taylor, 伊丽莎白·布莱尔, 和帕克.
